Our Solar facade has been a well kept secret for a while now, but we can finally reveal it! We have created a Solar facade made by Kameleon Solar that represents our Delft origins.

The facade brings together two worlds of Delft, the medieval city and the innovative technology of Delft. It connects the past, present and future. In order to bridge the gap between the past, present and future, the facade refers to a painting of the Schiedamse en Rotterdamse poort of Delft, made by A. Rademaker, an 18th-century painter and printmaker. An abstraction of the painting is made by referring to the handmade tiles in different shades of blue. This results in a facade that really reflects the history and character of Delft. Because of the flexibility of the Kameleon Solar print it is possible to create a facade that suits each neighborhood in our building design.

By printing the print of Delft on Building Integrated Photovoltaic Panels in different colours, it shows the innovation we create here at Delft University of Technology. It represents TU Delft engineering and fulfils the University’s mission of creating impact for a better society.
